Happy Friday!
As I write today's post it is hard to believe that we are moving into November! These two months have zoomed by! This week will be a week of continuous review and informal assessments. If your child will be absent please let myself or the school know as soon as possible. The beginning of the week will also have some fun with a few Halloween inspired activities relating to our most recent units and the unit we have just begun Les aliments/ Food. I will be conducting assessment for report cards the week of November 5th this will include oral assessments as well as reading assessments. Should anything alarming arise from these results I will inform you in a timely manner. Have a great weekend and Happy Halloween :) Katelyn Pettigrew

Happy Friday!
This week we've been busy reviewing parts of the Ma famille unit that have been challenging and finished working on our Ma Maison de reve/My dream home. Today I also gave students a little extra time to finish their maison de reve (for those who had a lot left to complete) unfortunately not many students took advantage of this time. Should your child arrive Monday and not be prepared I will unfortunately have to mark them accordingly. I am however, pleased with how hard working and determined they have been. This week coming students will present their maison de reve On Monday we will begin our new unit Les aliments/ Food. Throughout the week we will be discussing Qu'est-ce que tu manges pour... (What do you eat for...) dejeuner (breakfast), diner (lunch) and souper (supper). Throughout the week I will also be conducting informal evaluations of their reading in French. Again if I notice anything that you should be aware of I will send you and email or give you a call. Have a great weekend and a great week ahead! Katelyn Pettigrew I hope everyone had a great long weekend. This week we've been busy getting back into routines and continuing to work on our Ma Maison de reve/My dream home.
Next week students will continue to work on creating their maison de reve and presenting them the following week. This past week our focus was finishing up our Ma famille unit and discussing and writing about our maison de reve. On Monday we will begin our new unit Les aliments/ Food. Throughout the week we will be discussing Qu'est-ce que tu manges pour... (What do you eat for...) dejeuner (breakfast), diner (lunch) and souper (supper). If anyone has any play food items at home that you'd like to send in for use in the classroom we would love to have them! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and as always feel free to contact me as needed! Katelyn Pettigrew Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
Next week we will be busily working on our Ma maison de reves (My dream home). I strongly advise students begin to collect items (this weekend) such as boxes and other things they may want for their dream home (pictures, doll furniture etc). This is a project we will be doing at school but students are to bring in the items to create it. Please have items to the school for Tuesday. This is a lofty project and one that can cause students to stress over but honestly it should be a low to no stress as I want to see creativity! I hope everyone has a great long weekend and comes back rested and ready to get this project completed. * Hot lunch starts this week so be sure to complete payment via the Cashless school program :) Cheers, Katelyn Pettigrew |
